WHY ARE THERE  TWO ‘C’s IN COLLECCTIVE?

When July roles around we will start the next phase actually putting all we have learned into play via BFG Live.  This Sunday we start selecting participants and collaborators.   As soon as there is a consensus among existing member we will list them!

BTW It is so nice to welcome Aziza PR on board…

NEW YORK, NY — June 24, 2009 – Just off their support of the Juneteenth Fashion Career Expo, www.fashioncareerexpo.org and getting ready for FashionCampNY a BarCamp Style event www.fashioncamp.org, Brooklyn Fashion Gallery is reaching out to artists, designers and crafters for their Fall Collective program at this week’s show and sell events at Delux Gallery 704 Fulton Street in Brooklyn on Sunday June 28th, from 3:00 – 9:00pm.

While the public is invited to shop at the events, this allows independent entrepreneurs the opportunity to define and create their own vehicle for selling. Creative entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs are invited to take collective action and help cut costs while sharing common tasks.

During This phase of our project designers and artists will explore digital printing and other emerging production tools.  Independent designers curated for quality and workshops in business and technology as well as web support are provided! Although new groups will start in July, BFGLive will conduct an open call as well as a wrap workshop as part of their shopping event. Space will be made available on a first come first served basis so designers and artists are encouraged to apply early!

While improved product lines is reason enough to consider this opportunity, it should be noted that previous participants in the Brooklyn Fashion Gallery project have not only been featured in national trade and business magazines but some are now pursuing placement in boutiques and major retailers.
