Behind The Bridge
Behind The bridge- The Sybolic Brooklyn Bridge stylized as a base of an upcoming Open Source self-funding project- as rendered by the next generation- artist Yohane Sandy
Currently Demarketplace is exploring Modern Trade as an ecosystem;-
We thought our greatest challenge would be accessing technology. NYC has a Generous supportive tech community. It has been the least of our problems! Hardware and access to Internet is the next concern. We are increasing our exploration of mobile access and looking at the Global Marketplace.
A Global Market needs:-Space-Training programs-Resources identification and allocation-Production-Sales and Distribution as well as Professionals with an International perspective and a tech understanding as to the intricacies esp Financial and Legal

We have kept the cornerstones of the original Artist Mosaic concept!
Using , adapting and integrating technology that
Culture + Creativity + Collaboration + Community = Commerce
- Cultural Sensitivity – The Project had to adapt and be culturally sensitive
- Creativity- thinking out side the box , creative use of new technology
- Collaboration-Co-working, Collaboration, Co-Creation,
- Community- In a local Crowd sourcing and Crowd funding in learning , product development sales and
Commerce- Not entertainment was the goal so each project component ultimately, had to focused on commercial potential and economic development and answer the question “where’s the money” at to sustain your dependents
“DeMarketplace” as started in June 2007 focused on several aspect needed
In The Trenches-
a Practical Business Development and Training g Program Executed in 3 stages that helps, cottage industry “Mom and Pop” Creative entrepreneurs! We have used an adapted the program mainly in the creative fields- fashion, accessories and lifestyle product developer; but recently have been filding interest from other local busiensses
Behind the Bridge-
A focused study on early use, adaptation adoption and integration of open source technology in all Phases of a Product Lifecycle Management! We became part of The Barcamp community informationa and relationships with technology allowed us to experiment!
Demarketplace.com
as Virtual Network and Incubator that explored the creation of a essentially a Digital, Electronic and Mobile Marketplace: – or business district with methodology, model and platform that can easily be adopted and adapted by anyone. Recognizing that now more than ever trade was a global activity, the final product needed to have “portable”. From concept to distribution as much of the product lifecycle management needed to be executed and stored online
General
BEHIND THE BRIDGE is “Testing theory through practice,” is Localized project that provides live testing platforms, in the Digital virtual and real world!
Brand Statement:- a self- funded projectAs I See It is a blog on my role and thought as project lead, and is posted without “spin”! While this raw unfined format may disturb many it is more “organic” with the way small businesses evolve! We refine as we develop, grow and time alots
How can technology or the way we use it be adapted and adopted for use by society.
Components- A series of web sites and offline projects, designed to explore differing theories
All our sites test specific need usage, built on a coiple of platforms, and are used as a teaching and development tool for the local business we encounter and may change over the course of time ! Some actually allow designers and artist to test sales models and tools and as such are LIVE models of sites they will eventually build for their businesses. Hence the referral to the concept of Virtual incubator!

Behind The bridge
“Behind the Bridge” centers all our components it signifies the Brooklyn community where we “test theories” on Technology and new media as it relates to local commerce! Brooklyn is offers a unique opportunity to interact with just about any culture in the globe as well an abundance of both “mom an Pop’ as well as younger more creative indie businesses!
While the project centered offline we have always maintained a web presence.Since 2003 we’ve explored individual components and theories as they relate to Creative Enterprise in 2006 we began focussing more in technology and in 2007 DeMarketplace a project that looked specifically to digital , electronic and mobile technology, for solutions on trade was born.
After 2008 based on observations ,the decision was taken to “regenesis”, a re-launch with a major diversion, a commitment to “rethink everything”. Refocusing the center on the artist rather than technology. As such, rather than ask “how can the artist use new technology?” we ask
“what can technology do for the artist? How can technology or the way we use it be adapted and adopted for used by society?” How can we design to maximize results.
