Andy Mitchell from Facebook will join presenters at TV Goes Social
Andy Mitchell from Facebook will join presenters at TV Goes Social! I’ve started paying attention to new programing moves ! The Participatory aspect of The NEW TV Fascinates me as a creative, as a member of society as an entrepreneur! What’s Most interesting though is that we, as regular citizens have an opportunity to shape this by choosing to be active!
Don’t like the Programming on Television … Then create your own and share with friends family even others with similar interest and viewpoints… in your social networks- in real time as teh show is aired! TV goes Social Is More technical with presentations on some of teh aps and of course conversations on Monetization!
There is another aspect that i’ve been seeing that of opportunities for muti-unit Real estate owners… who now can provide cable access as part of their pakage! Now whether that pans out to advertising commissions needs to be seen! here a Brooklyn meeting about that!
June 23: Facebook Joins TV Goes Social
Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 1:00 PM (ET)
“TV GOES SOCIAL” Conference – Thursday, June 23 Fordham Lincoln Center 60th & Columbus
CONFERENCE AGENDA:
1:00 – 1:50 The Social TV Platform: The New Hardware Options
New viewing devices, settop boxes and internet unifying services are adding a new dimension of utility to the TV.
2:00 – 2:40 Monetization – Software and Services That Promise Upside TV is at the heart of the advertising world – so new Social TV services and apps promise to attract major advertiser interest. See what they are, how they work and how you can take something off the trillion dollar TV ad market.
2:45 – 3:45 An App for That? The New Apps & Software
Facebook and Twitter are today’s social media options but they weren’t designed to synch with the TV watching experience. A new wave of purpose-built software and Apps promises to change all that!
4:00 – 5:15 The Vision – How The Social Viewer Will Experience TV
The pieces are coming online, programming executives and marketers have forged dramatic campaigns out of the Facebook and Twitter. But these are still intermediate, transitional steps compared to the new viewing interaction and audience marketing models that are about to emerge.

A while back one of my cousins got married and I watched with my sister across town who was on skyoe with my Mother in Trinidad… and as we dished and interacted I realized that teh “revolution’ was much closer than we expected!
This is much more than what we can do with video the above video is 59 minutes long and I watched every minute of it! The level of Storytelling, content and rich context is unparalleled … of course this is a world renowed filmmaker… but withing my communities are several extremely talented individuals… what would change if they were empowered! I’m attending two Social TV Events this week! One I pulled together to get start th e traction within local creative communities!
This will be about the content and what we as viewers WANT to experience… it will also touch on the new approaches to creation, as well as! we’ve all said it I can do a Better job… now we really can!Last summer we tuned on the camera and started exploring what it will take… we had designers in Trindad, Brooklyn and Nigeria on the other end… our focus was NOt purely teh Tv Screen (but creating content that can online or onto teh TV Screen! Tomorrow we’ll talk about those experiences! But we had Three individuals one with 10 years commercial experience , one with as many if not more in Public TV production and Designers themselves! we really learned a lot from each other! What makes content engaging and what do You want to share… do you want to leave that up to a TV producer!
Do You See what I’m Saying – Designing Video as a Presentation Platform 6/20/11 10AM – 1PM
Great Storytelling By David Hoffman
I found this video today from an award winning filmmaker & collector who lost 40 years of collected items when a fire destroyed his home! He had a lot digitally documented… but his take in the situation his decision to take the opportunity to create a “Legacy video” was Inspirational! how many of us take the time to document our family histories or teh stories of people around us!
My Disaster Story: How To Overcome Hard Times … David Hoffman via You Tube
There are thousands of video to select online . So how do we choose… usually by accident or recommendation… I found this Via TED and a small link in the comments… and watched all 59 minutes! This film shows letting go and celebrating and documenting legacies! Brilliantly told by award winning Filmmaker David Hoffman!
This defies “experts who claim that web viewers have short attention spans… I watch all 59 minutes and plan to again! But it is the storytelling in the words of ordinary people and the stories of ordinary people, that I find fascinating!
I believe in the ordinary people , I love the ordinary people, I’m comfortable with the ordinary people
And the ordinary people when you give them a chance, a fair amount of times, they’re are extraordinary

Can the rate of adoption be affected by design? How does our perception of values affect the survival of tech products?
Designing product, sales and marketing to maximize results with less resources can help organizations cut costs and develop an extremely loyal customer base! Separate the facts from the hype and build what works!
Explore what is needed to serve and bridge a gaping (and potentially lucrative) digital divide.
DeMarketPlace is a virtual network & incubator, centered in Brooklyn, designed within the constraints of doing more with less! The goal was to create a methodology and model which, while identifying and testing tools that could be used, could easily be adapted in any country with whatever existing resources were available! Thus giving local businesses access to a Global Market, in the shortest time possible!

Fashion in Augmented Reality
Please do not ask me the technical details, I just discovered this augmented reality clip. This is a re-post of a thread I started on the FashionCamp( in 2007) discussion and needed to direct someone on another group to it (what’s the correct “webiquette”
Watch this video till the end it shows Augmented reality in use. in the later part of the video is actually the screen from a mobile phone. focused on a black and white surface say Qr Code.
I had seen augmented reality clips son the NextNy discussion board, but these finally made it click’

We will center the project on this site. However we have set up various installations so as to test the best options.Today we begin educting participants on a broader sense. Tomorrow we send out our foirst qr code Which will deliver messages that lead to various use scenarios. it would be easy to point to landing page but that defeats the purpose of codes.

How 2D codes work a visualization
At whichever points you encounter 2D codes. It is necessary to read or scan the image. Which is to say you take a picture of the image. The software then decodes the character embedded within the image. when generating codes please decide if It is necessary sometime to embed code that directs the phone to take action that then ‘Hyperlinks’ the virtual, with the physical. For example a 2d code could bookmark (save) a website url, or it can tell the phone to access the url … if it is accessible via a mobile browser. It can even take that action further directing a download of a video or audio file for example.
We have provided a list of code generators and scanners for those wanting to explore! To receive info on the project development and copies of codes simply subscribe via email to this (check extreme right column.)
We have received a lot of inquiries for many who have not seen the code in action as to exactly how it works. The challenge is that code are not just hanging around waiting to be scanned!
We are working to develop a holiday campaign, In the meantime We hope this helps.
Connecting at Web 2.0 expo NY and Web2openNy
I have questioned the effectiveness of business cards and personally believe that the ”green” movement needs to take a look at the business collateral distributed at conferences. I usally end up with a number of professional rather generic looking cards and culd seldom recall anything about the company or individual behind the card.
I still needed a simple way to pass my contact info along, this time I decided to repurpose a flyer I had recently designed to promote qrcodes, as a card to distriute @ Web 2open.. I wanted an inexpensive, efficient way to connect with leave a memrable impression.
I am really have taken to the potential of 2d barcodes 2d barcode reader allow mobile phones to “read’ several forms of 2d images.Within a year or two we will begin to see an increased use of these black and white graphics. There are many free options for generating the codes and a number of options for readers! Moreso they provide an affordable option to the business card. Snap and you’ve secured your contact! On the other all you have to do is generate the code and attach it to your badge, laptop and even, yes he business card!
