<p>Thus far it seems  next year should be a  pivotal point for my work with local designers all thanks to the humble Webcam and the new emerging technologies!  The above image simulates local talent on the large screen!</p>
<p>Esther on the  left seen in her studio &#8220;Gets It&#8221; and having  redone her studion  is now is vamping up   her support systems and learning teh basics of teh technology&#8230; In St. lucia!</p>
<p>We have designers at  various points of readiness in NY, The west coast, Europe, Africa and the  Caribbean ! Servicing their local communities but accessing Global Markets!</p>
<p>Measuring  customers and Fit was an issue&#8230; many  simply prefer to &#8220;observe&#8221; the process and note the  measurements as they are taken&#8230;</p>

<p>There is another aspect that  i&#8217;ve been seeing that of opportunities for muti-unit Real estate owners&#8230; who now can provide cable access as part of their pakage! Now whether that pans out to  advertising  commissions needs to be  seen! here a Brooklyn meeting about that!</p>

<p>A while back one of my cousins got married and I watched with my  sister across town who was on skyoe with my Mother in Trinidad&#8230; and as  we dished and interacted I realized that teh &#8220;revolution&#8217; was much  closer than we expected!</p>

The level of  Storytelling, content and rich context is unparalleled &#8230; of course  this is a world renowed filmmaker&#8230; but withing my communities are  several extremely talented individuals&#8230; what would change if they were  empowered! I&#8217;m attending two Social TV Events this week! One I pulled  together to get start th e traction within local creative communities!</p>
<p>This will be about the content and what we as viewers WANT to  experience&#8230; it will also touch on the new approaches to creation, as  well as! we&#8217;ve all said it I can do a Better job&#8230; now we really  can!Last  summer we tuned on the camera and started exploring what it  will  take&#8230; we had designers in Trindad, Brooklyn  and Nigeria on the  other  end&#8230; our focus was NOt purely teh Tv  Screen  (but creating   content  that can online or onto teh  TV Screen!   Tomorrow we&#8217;ll talk  about   those experiences! Fashion Art  Culture&#8230; Told by the people who  do this and understand subtle  nuances&#8230;  We&#8217;re speaking more about subject familiarity! i want to  learn and be engage on topics I  love! Which  may or may not  fall into  the mandate of a programming executive! on the other hand from asking  designers to create video  as presentation for their story they may not   feel comfortable with the medium&#8230; but they have great stories! <p>I am Human, I’m not a  Reporter so, like viewers I  respond from the gut  and CNN has won my  Support with  this new direction! It Does NOT  appear Self Service… they  have genuine passion for the subject and I  have spent days online  looking at the CNN reports and Sharing them to  the  point of  fanaticism They have even  gone as far as attempting to <a href="http://ireport.cnn.com/blogs/ireport-blog/2011/03/01/defining-america#comme" target="_blank">define America</a> A  cultural survey that I’m looking forward To exploring! Note  I am  not  the CNN viewer “.  I perceived them as “Too Stuffy” But their <a href="http://ireport.cnn.com/ir-topic-stories.jspa?topicId=492515" target="_blank">Global challenge</a> has  me hooked! <p style="text-align: left;">First  up an entire channel devoted to a burger&#8230; is grossly  exhorbitant and NOT in the spirit of Social Media!  Actually my  opinion took into account  a &#8220;rant&#8221; from one viewer (see above) He&#8217;s right rather than control their price so that the consumer can afford to enjoy,  companies are arrogantly assuming they are dealing with the same consumer mentality&#8230; but  this consumer tells us clearly  WHY  burger king lost him as a consumer!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The  shortest  distance between two points is a straight  line!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">You wanted consumers to buy the burger then cut out the expensive ad channels and ad executive and let the consumer become a star of your marketing efforts&#8230;  ask them to send in a proof of purchase and lets see how many  bite!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">An opportunity for a 5 minute slot on cablevision&#8230; they&#8217;ll tell their friend! I keep saying that  ad  and programming  executives do not get it!  I do not  watch  you (except in the superbowl)  you do not relate to the consumer&#8217;s daily  lifestyle &#8230;  !hat I  Gossip&#8230;oh sorry, what we send viral feeds into need the entertainment value  or shock!</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Get into their neighborhoods  with direct marketing campaigns in local media outlets!</p>
<p>Secondly &#8230; we&#8217;ll there is just so much  WRONG with this ad&#8230; but  it shows the power of the possible business models that can emerge of what will emerge&#8230;</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Distribution  via cCablevision,-  this was Burger kings channel on  cable vision&#8230;</p>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Citizen or Brand Advocates! This is the  consumer who flips channels while he tweets and speaks on the  phone with  his friend&#8230;</p>

<p>So what are they  missing  at Ibreakfast  &#8221;Social TV&#8221;, I spoke on the  fact that what we enjoy about social media channels; what we like  is the view of &#8220;regular&#8221; folk&#8221;!  We wanted to  dish with our friends! I want to call my girl and tell her &#8220;Turn on your Tv&#8221;  Take a look  at this!</p>
<p>and what about those  social layers&#8230; twitter Facebook, You Tube, #hashtags!</p>
<p>the Plus&#8230; first in&#8230;  they got me to look at burgers for 10 minutes!  Thankfully Ii had already had breakfast&#8230; but  novelty will be the secret advantage for early adapters!</p>

<p>I guess i&#8217;m  judging them harder because they came under CBS  I expected more!</p>
<p>This was billed as a news program and Frankly  I was disappointed&#8230; I was caught  between  buttoning them  up so they were more &#8220;Newsy&#8221; or loosening their wardrobe so they were more natural!  It was a cal between buying them a round of  beers or bringing in a green screen!  In short they are pioneers and have not yet  found their voice!  Halfway through  I almost reached fro  my Skype to share my screen  and dish  with  one of my  friends! i needed  something more&#8230; so hence this post!<span id="more-657"></span></p>
<p>This gave me a chance to critique &#8220;what I&#8217;d Do Better&#8221;! Not  a good sign!&#8230;</p>

<li>Set The ladies looked like Alice  in wonderland&#8230; that furniture is TOO big! Makes them look like they are playing at  Reporting!</li>
<li>Wardrobe&#8230;  See my note above&#8230; Something&#8217;s off&#8230; either loosen up  or Button  Down&#8230; Stop  pretending</li>
<li>Lighting  Cool&#8230; open</li>
<li>Host I was distracted by  the  guys hair&#8230; I cannot remember anything else (I shut the  tab down  so I could write on my  impressions&#8230;  pink shoes! The Lady with the tablet  (who&#8217;s feet did not reach the floor had hot pink  shoes!  Topic Gay &#8221; Girl in Damascus&#8221; and&#8221;  Internet in a Suitcase&#8221;&#8230; they were actually interesting  stories butI was distracted!</li>
<li>Ads&#8230; Very  unobtrusive&#8230; I like that!  Can&#8217;t  remember what they were &#8230; buit  I LIKED that!</li>

<p>On the other hand I do NOT watch much traditional TV shows  and it  certainly not what  I get  social about!! When I watch TV  I want to be entertained&#8230; so  If I am delivering  content  on TV, It  has to  Entertain! Add the ability to check in, scan an offer  from a QR Code or  identify images with your mobile!  Not only can  you  tell others about  your product via social media they can now be the distribution channels themselves!</p>

With huge amounts of money being put into services that help businesses suddenly everyone is an expert!  I have sat in on so many &#8216;discussions lately on what is personal branding and selling; the &#8220;Personal Brand&#8221;: and “Personal branding and Social Network Marketing’.  If you disagree name me one person who is “selling a personal brand”</p>
<p>My initials are ‘BS’ (Bonnie Sandy), and I have no problem using them when appropriate to stress just how ridiculous something is. A &#8220;brand&#8221; is a public set of definitions, which lay out guidelines on areas that influence how people perceive you. Anyone who knows me within my project will tell you that</p>

<p>Anyone who knows me on a personal level will tell you that</p>

<p>No I am not a mental case; I simply understand the difference between personal and persona. I understand where Bonnie ends and the project begins. I don’t sell BS under  any circumstances.  Yes often I have to  stepped out of my &#8220;personal&#8221;  to accomplish the goals of  the project</p>
<p>Who I am where I like to hang, what I like to do, how I like look to dress are influence by the personal, emotional and creative and spiritual &#8220;space&#8221; I am in. They may change depending on the side of the bed, the weather, or how much sleep  I’ve had. Yes my personal ethics and morals are consistent and may shape my decisions, but ultimately I am responsible to myself.</p>
<p>On the other hand with the project I run and subsequently business that someone runs, there are expressed commitments, to others. Consistency is vital. Who (more accurately what) that business is,  where it can be found, what &#8220;it &#8221; does and how “it” looks is part of that commitment. While not a &#8220;person&#8221; that entity has it&#8217;s own identity, a personae. Staying true to that personae and that commitment is vital to its success.</p>
<p>My argument iis that we sell personae, carefully package to be eperceiived in a particular light.  If you’re thinking of celebrities … these are the most carefully packaged “personae’ that exists today.  What causes  PR  headache is that these are so often so far removed from who they really are that they inevitable  get caught out of ‘character”.</p>
<p>When I get up in the morning short tempered and ill-mannered I just warn my son .. I&#8217;m not in the mood today. If say “Facebook” decided to be &#8216;exclusively a portal for businesses, first of all t hat has a process to go through before a final decision is made and even then existing clients, legal, and advertisers have to be notified. Even if an individual blogger changes his mind on his site policy or layout it is good business to notify his readers and on the pending changes in his sites personae. FaceBook’s Brand personae how we perceive it and more importantly what we expect from it and how we behave and engage with other within its confines differ from others in it sector. It has a strong Brand personae..</p>
<p>Even then given the standards I have chosen for the overall public perception of my &#8220;Brand&#8221;. I treat each &#8220;sites on it&#8217;s own merit. Each individual installation has a different mission, a different set of goals and objectives and even a different reader&#8230;  in short a different personae</p>
<p>To simply fly  what  defines a brand I ask  the artist in my project (overwhelmingly  family oriented, to think of each of their individual children then.</p>

<li>Where will they shop?</li>
<li>Who is their friend”?</li>
<li>What set s them apart from their friends</li>
<li>Where will you most likely find them?</li>
<li>What, books, magazine, music will they own, borrow give away?</li>
</ol>
<p>In their children this is personality. Packaging these elements together to define a product creates brand personae.</p>

<p>We&#8217;ve set up a chippin so that we can raise funds needed to help local desifgners and artist market.</p>
<p>At the end of the runway we sell.</p>
<p>A simple statement that defines what sets our program apart.  All Artist and Designers participating in projects are  financially  responsible  for there costs incurred, as well as actively participate in marketing.   For the past four years,  we have offered support in the form of free training and workshops. we have explored the applications of many theories in the &#8220;real&#8221; world.</p>
<p>This season we are exploring crowd sourcing and crowdfunding and their suitability and adaptability as business models within communities.</p>
<p>Each artist has committed to improving and expanding their product range and price structure. They also each commit to passing on the knowledge through workshops, seminars and taking on apprentices.</p>

<p>Community Businesses  support these local creatives  by provideing their services at a highly reduced rate. In turn they all have access to the same rates from other participants.</p>
<p>Young Women and men in the community participate as product models. As they move onto college, they now are faced with tuition isues. We are expanding this program providing sales and technology training which can better help them compete in the job market.</p>
<p>Each season we focus on a particular issue faced by these businesses and tackle them head on testeing theory through Practice. As such we are focusing on expanded marketing and exploration funding and financing.</p>
<p>An effective marketing campaign will cost above and beyond the measures we have put in place! We invite you to Chippin to a worthy cause.</p>
<p>There is also the option of becoming an official VIP a Vested interest Patron. As a VIP you are Given an opportunity to join our exploration of  Crowdfunding  and Crowdsourcing. You will get access to behind the scene coverage of the design and entrepreneurial process.</p>
